Dylan Farrell-Bryan (PhD Candidate in Sociology) and Ian Peacock (Sociology, UCLA) published a data visualization in Socius titled "Who Gets Deported? Immigrant Removal Rates by National Origin and Period, 1998 to 2021." Drawing on data from the Executive Office for Immigration Review, Dylan and Ian chart two decades of removal rates for immigrants from the 30 most-common countries represented in US immigration courts. The visualization and supplemental materials provide strong evidence of inequalities facing Latin Americans, as Honduran, Mexican, Guatemalan, and Brazilian nationals have been ordered removed at rates considerably higher than the population average, while Chinese, Albanian, Egyptian, and Ethiopian nationals experience notably low rates of removal.
