Jerry A. Jacobs and NYU Professor Kathleen Gerson have been elected Co-Presidents of Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS). They will be serving a three-year term as presidents-elect, presidents, and past-presidents, and are responsible for organizing the winter and summer meetings in 2015. As an organization, SWS is entering its 45th year 900 members strong. Its journal, Gender & Society, has become a leading journal in Women's Studies and Sociology. SWS seeks to promote greater opportunities for women through efforts topromote feminist research, teaching and advocacy.
